Design Management for a Retail Brand - Case 4

Preserving the Essence: Local Adaptation of Original Overseas Designs

Case Study: Nidi, a premier furniture brand from Italy, transforms spaces for kids and youth with the perfect blend of style and usability.

In this project, we were tasked with transforming part of an existing flagship store into another flagship store. Beyond the design and project management aspects outlined in our previous case studies, this project required careful planning to accommodate the ongoing operations of the surrounding area.

The client, our project sponsor, aimed to take this opportunity to improve some existing facilities, adding complexity to the alignment of requirements from all stakeholders involved. Our goals included protecting existing assets, minimizing disruptions to current operations, maximizing the quality of the new renovation, and effectively coordinating the project timeline. Ultimately, we focused on delivering the best results while navigating the constraints of the project.

Point 4

Always put stakeholder management at a priority, especially with key stakeholders.

Secure support and trust from the client. Also definitely get the site owner to feed you all “really” necessary information to avoid wasting money and time in resolving “found only later” ad hoc site difficulties during the project execution stage, which is always accompanied with a hectic schedule.
